Put museums on your to do list for summer vacation

untitled

Summer is around the corner… If you aren’t feeling it yet, you will soon. How do I know it’s summer? People are starting to ask me to help them plan their summer vacations, and I love it. I need to get some different things today but first to make sure this gets done.

When you think about your summer vacation, you’re likely deciding how much of a vacation you can afford, what kind of hotel you want to stay in, and hoping that your hotel will have a nice pool… And yes, having downtime is important when planning a vacation, you may want to have a few structured activities planned as well. So why not consider planning your trip so you and your family can see some great museums… Before writing this post off, remembering that your parents drug to museums every single trip you made, and you swore to never do that to your child, museums have gotten more interesting through the years.. Museums come in all shapes and sizes, in all kinds of towns. You don’t have to go to large cities to find good museums.

Think about the things that your children love to discuss around the dinner table. Are your children into history? Do they love science and are always trying some crazy experiment? Or maybe you’re raising future artists who would like to see paintings and sculptures?.. If you let me know what your family’s interests are, I can help you come up with some different places you can visit. Let me know if you are interested…

Kids in Vegas?

630x355

This past weekend was kind of crazy. But more on point for this blog, I’m starting to talk to several people about trips, which is kind of exciting. But while I’m waiting to hear back from people, I am going to get my other Work done.

When you think of Vegas, you probably think of “sin city”, and sayings like, “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,”. But what you may or may not know is that your hotel rooms, food, and things like that are subsidized by the gambling done there. So if you are looking for an inexpensive vacation, Vegas just might fit the bill. But what family friendly activities are there to do there? There are several amusement parks in the area. And that includes water parks. There are even rides that children can enjoy right on The Strip. You might want to stick to the daylight hours for The Strip though.

Is your child into crime shows or reading mysteries? Your family might enjoy CSI: The Experience where you will be able to work on simulated crime scenes together.. It’s a fun way to spend time together.. And of course, most places you will be staying will have great pools you can enjoy together.

Please let me know if your family is interested in going to Vegas together.

Girls’ weekend, anyone? #2

grand-residences-006

I’m glad it’s Friday, and I’m thinking about trying to get everything done today and just being lazy tomorrow. We will see if that happens or not. I’m really tempted to do some serious reading today.

Another idea for a girls’ trip is a cruise.. Again, like Disney, we talk a lot about cruises on this blog. Cruises have you need right on the ship. You will have access to a lot of different restaurants. Ships always have shows you can watch, and spas where you can get all sorts of treatments. And of course, there are pools to enjoy.. And if you ask me, I can help you determine the right cruise for you.

But only you will know what would work best for you and the group of girls you want to hang out with is.. Here are some questions you might want to consider.. Are you looking for an adventure on this trip, or do you simply want to relax on this trip? How does your little group reconnect best? What is the most important thing you want to do?.. I would love to help plan something like this. Please just let me know.

Girls’ weekend anyone?

15455826707_962b521438_zToday has been busy with all kinds of things… My brother and his wife came and got their girls. I did an interview with my speech-language pathologist. And then this afternoon I went out with a friend. So I am just now sitting down to do whatever I can on work stuff.

rI’m just going to say this, a girls’ getaway sounds nice.. I love going to women’s retreats and things like that. I love my family, but sometimes it’s nice, and sometimes it almost feels necessary, to get away from your day to day routine and just relax with friends. if this is something you’re interesting in planning, here are some suggestions.

You and your friends will know what works best for you, but you might want to consider taking a road trip. People tend to bond when they are on road trips. Maybe it’s the sense of adventure you get on a trip like this. Or maybe being on the road makes you feel freer to be yourself. Or maybe the long hours in the car gives you a certain odor. But whatever it is, you do bond..

I talk about Orlando and Disney World all the time on this blog. But what would it be like to do Disney World without kids?? Have you ever wondered about that? Maybe you and your little group need the time to just relax and laugh at yourselves.. Let me know if you’re interested in planning something like this.

Family cruising with Royal Caribbean #2

630x355

It has just been kind of a crazy week between having grandparents here and getting them settled in, and having my nieces here.. Yeah, it’s just been wild. But anyway..

Let’s get back to discussing Royal Caribbean… Your age groups on Royal Caribbean are three to five year six to eight year olds, and nine to elevens. They do this so that all the children should have pretty much the same interests.. Your children are going to create a puppet show you can enjoy at the end of the week. In these programs, your children are going to get a mixture of education and fun. Their teen programs are divided into two groups, twelve to fourteen year olds and fifteen to seventeen year olds. Royal Caribbean actually had teens write their own program, so all teens should enjoy it. This is the first cruise line to have water parks on board their ships.

On board these ships, character dining comes at no additional charge… They have Broadway shows on their ships, and these also are events that you take part of with no additional charge as well. And of course, you are going to have access to different pools and other sporting activities… For children ages six to eleven, they have family dining, where they can eat with you and then go back to the program. You can also enjoy watching movies under the stars.

Please let me know if your family is interested in taking a Royal Caribbean cruise. I would be more than happy to help you out.

Family cruising with Royal Caribbean

Today has been crazy, and I’m just now really starting to work. I don’t like that because I have so much I feel like I need to be doing. But anyway, let’s get down to business.

Today we are going to be talking about what Royal Caribbean can do for families… Cruises can be great fun and great value for families. Everyone works so hard these days. Why shouldn’t you vacation where absolutely everything is taken care of for you. Royal Caribbean has an agreement with Dreamworks which allows anyone going on these cruises to interact with Dreamworks characters on a lot of their ships. Also you will be able to watch a lot of Dreamworks’ movies, whether you want to see a movie in a huge 3D theater or in the privacy of your own room… Royal Caribbean has won awards as the best cruises for families.

Now let’s talk about their children’s programs. Royal babies are between six to eighteen months, and Royal Tots are up to three years old. Fisher Price is another company that has an agreement with this cruise line this is about forty five minutes each day where you and your child can go to meet other parents and children about that age. I think we are going to stop here and get back to this tomorrow. Please let me know your thoughts.

Even more spring break trip ideas

It’s Monday. I had a nice weekend, but I need to get back to work. That wasn’t really a complaint, I thoroughly enjoy my job, each part of it actually.

But let’s get back to ideas for spring break trips… I know I’ve already talked about Disney parks in this series, but what about Disney cruises? I’ve heard from different people that these cruises are incredible. I’ve heard that the children will love to go to Disney’s programs. You might have to beg your kids to spend time with you, which may or may not be a bad thing. Disney has clubs teens where they can and meet others their age. They have great dining options for the family, they will even take your kids once they finish their meals so you can enjoy yours more… And of course, this is Disney, so you will also get to see characters. They have Broadway style shows, which I hear are cleaner than most cruise lines’ entertainment. You can even enjoy the parks before or after your cruise if you like getting the best of both worlds.

If you have older children, you might want to visit DC. I grew up in North Carolina and Tennessee, ennessee, but my grandparents lived in Virginia. So we used to visit Washington pretty often. There are a ton of monuments. There is the smithsonian, which is a bunch of different museums. Their zoo is also part of the Smithsonian. And the spring is a great time to go because of the cherry blossoms.

Please let me know if you would like help with spring break trips or summer plans. I would be more than happy to help you.

Even more places to visit on spring break

630x355 (2)

My guess is that since summer is coming, people are starting to think about their vacation plans. I’m starting to get more requests.. Now hopefully they will book with me, since that is how I make my money.. I need to do this so I can get to the other things. I’m not sure what this weekend holds since we have family here and may be getting more.

I also want to say that while I’m calling these spring break vacations, most of them would work well for a summer vacation as well. Now I have heard that Disney is very crowded during summers. And in order to ensure a place in the parks, you have to stay in one of their resorts.

San Diego may be the college student’s dream, but it is also a great place for families. They have an outstanding zoo for starters. And of course, it has some of the most beautiful beaches. If your family wants to soak up some sun, this may be the perfect place for you to go.

If your family has baseball fans, you might want to go to the spring trainings. They have two training camps for the Major Leagues. One is in Florida, and the other is in Arizona. Both places have hotels that cater to the baseball enthusiasts…. Which of these sounds most interesting to you?

More family friendly spring break vacations

630x355 (2)

It is Thursday , and I’m having one of those tired days. But there is work to be done, especially since I’m not sure what this weekend holds.

If you’re willing and able to spend some money, you might consider visiting the Virgin Islands. This is one more vacation that will not require a passport. And who wouldn’t want to be in tropical weather after the winter we’ve had? If this is the first time you will be visiting the Virgin Islands, you will want to concentrate on the three main islands, which are Saint Croix, Saint Thomas, and Saint John. You will want to visit the national park that is on Saint John. There are a lot of great places to hike and camp at this park. Your family may also want to visit Magens Bay which is a beautiful beach that is also near some beautiful mountains.

But if you are looking for something a little closer to home, there is this chain of large indoor water parks called Great Wolf Lodges which has locations across the country. For families looking to just relax and have fun together, this is the perfect getaway, especially if you’re itching for some summer fun.. Let me know if you are interested in either of these. I’ll be more than happy to help you plan your trips.

Trips families can take on

630x355

I’m working with someone on a booking, hopefully that is going to work Out, so today is starting out kind of crazy. I think I need to get this done before I really start on everything else I need to do.

So spring break is just around the corner for many people. And even if you were a partier in high school\college, you don’t want to take your children to those type of places. So here are some family friendly alternatives you might want to consider. We are probably going to be looking at this for several days.

What better way to spend spring break than at the happiest place on earth? World is a great way to spend your vacation. There are several other amusement parks in the Orlando area for families to enjoy together. Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom are perfect for the younger members of the family. There are also places like LEGOLAND and Universalstudios that you should probably consider.

If you have older children, you might want to consider making a trip to the Grand Canyon. They have a lot of bike trails you can enjoy. You can take donkeys to explore the canyon itself… Let me know if I can help you plan your spring break travels. p
