I think I am going to be looking at a couple of different news stories today. Anyone who has read this blog for a while knows that I mostly write about travel opportunities, and try to stay away from controversy. But I was sad when I read that a group is asking all hotels in this country to take the bibles out of their rooms. Yes, I know that the bible is very available on the internet. And of course, most anyone has access to the internet they want. I just think putting bibles in hotel rooms is a nice gesture.

And on to happier news.. This is something I don’t personally do, because I can travel on own. But a lot of travel agents go places so that they can find out the better places to send people. And travel agents also get feedback from their clients.. And so, this industry has what is called Travvy Awards. So among travel agent s’ favorites are Hard Rock and Sandals. Karisma is also very high on their list.

I would love to know your thoughts on any of this.

Luxury in Los Cabos

I have several big projects I’m working on for job. And the big projects are.. Okay, besides doing this and making sure my e-mail is current, I try to do some kind of travel industry training and some business training. Right now I’m working through Norwegian CCruise Lines’ training which is pretty extensive. And my parents bought me a business book that I’m hoping is going to get me a lot more business. So let’s get started on this.

For those that don’t know, Los Cabos has had to go through a major reconstruction because of a storm. But this place, which is Villa La Estancia, looks absolutely incredible, doesn’t it? Not only is it beautiful, and all the accommodations spacious, but you are also going to find excellent service.

This place is on a beach. However, I don’t think this beach is at all busy. I’m pretty sure this is a private place. You can choose between a one-, two-, or three-bedroom suite. Besides the nice bedrooms, you will enjoying full kitchens, and spa-like bathrooms. The resort has food that will please every pallate. And Los Cabos itself is gorgeous. How hotels cater to families

630x355 (1)

I may not say this enough, but I thoroughly enjoy my job. No, I’m not where I want to be, but I enjoy working at this every day. And I do know that enjoying what you do day to day is a blessing.

Now let’s talk some more about hotels… We in the travel industry have learned that families like traveling together. And more and more that doesn’t just mean parents and their children, it can include grandparents, aunts and uncles. Sometimes families decide to bring friends along. And of course, we travel professionals like that and want to encourage guests to come, to love their experiences, and want to come again.

One way many hotels are trying to do this is having more suites that have more space. Families just want more room, and hotels are trying to accommodate that. Hotels are doing more and more multi-room suites. Some will even have bunk beds. Some hotel suites sound more like apartments than hotels because they have kitchens and dining rooms in them.

Hotels are also looking into doing more children’s programs. And most children’s programs are both educating and entertaining. Some are going to be about science and others are going to be more about the culture of where the hotels. Please let me know what questions you have.

Hotels that do it up for Christmas

630x355 (15)

Once again, thank you for all of the follows. Please let me know if you need a travel agent. I guess it’s obvious by now that I love this Christmas season. I am going to say Merry Christmas, and like it when businesses say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays or whatever. This is the celebration of Christ’s birth over and above all. May we remember that as the busyness of this season happens.

Today let’s look at some hotels. The first one we are going to look at is Switzerland’s Kempinski Hotel Des Bains. This five star hotel used to be a castle. And for Christmas, they will be glad to set up a decorated tree for you.

If you want to stay in the States this holiday season, you might want to take a look at Vermont’s Barrow’s House. This is where you will be treated to a sleigh ride, you can choose whether or not you want a Santa suit. This upscale inn will be serving dinner both Christmas Eve and Christmas day dinners so that you won’t have to leave the inn.

Let me know if you have questions about any of this.

Things to do in Denver,Colorado

Obviously what Colorado is most known for is their skiing. But today we are going to talk about some things you can do in Denver besides skiing. Maybe you’d want to keep this in mind for when the weather is bad, or maybe you’ll have a group who doesn’t want to ski the whole time. Either way, here are some suggestions.

  • The capitol building is great to explore. They do give free tours Monday through Friday. However, things can get busy there, so you might want to call ahead and make reservations as opposed to just showing up.
  • There is this forty-foot blue bear that stands beside theirconvention center. You will want to go see that. Having your picture taken with it is also pretty popular.
  • Denver has a great science museum. The cost is fifteen dollars for an adult, and just ten dollars for children. You will be seeing dinosaurs, African wildlife, and astronauts. Plan on spending a good part of your day there.
  • Red Rock Amphitheater has appeal for a lot of different people. College students like to hang out during the day. Anyone interested in astronomy will love going here at night. Sometimes people put on dramas here.

Decorate your hotel room for the holidays

630x355 (15)

Happy Monday everyone! I have several things I want to do today, so let’s get started on this.

Are you looking to get away with a few friends over the holiday? Maybe you have friends who have families they aren’t going to be able to gather with over the holidays for the holidays, and your group decides to go away together for a few days. If you want to make your hotel room more homeyand feeling like the holidays, here are some ideas for you.

  • Put some holiday lights up around your room. Lights are often pretty inexpensive, and are pretty festive in and of themselves.
  • You might also want to bring some of your holiday scented candles that so many people like these days. Some hotels have candles or air freshners on hand. You just have to ask for them.
  • You might even want to put a small tree up. Hotels may not allow you put up a real tree, but they will usually allow you to put up a small fake tree up.
  • And of course, you are going to bring along your favorite holiday treats and drinks, especially if you don’t want to eat out the circle time. Or maybe you have something special you like to eat that might not be in restaurants.
  • And this might be a given, but don’t forget your Christmas music.

Do you have any other ideas? I would love to hear them.

Do you want to know something? I love my job. Now I’m not saying I am going to work every Saturday, I am going to feel out what my family is doing each week and kind of just see.

I would love to know more about who reads this blog. Mostly I’m reach out to young mothers wanting to travel more with their families.. Viking reaches out to an older generation, mostly like those 55 and older. But somehow Viking fascinates me anyway..

So anyway, Viking started out doing river cruises. If I have my story straight, they started out in Europe, then they started doing some cruises in Asia, and now they are starting to do some in North America. They are entering the ocean cruising market as well. Viking seems to do an impressive job wherever they go and whatever they do.

Here are some things they are doing right :

  • They have about sixty vessels and are adding to that
  • They are moving into the North American market
  • They are adding a lot of longer itineraries which perfect for their target market.

Let me know if you are interested in a Viking cruise..

Caribbean cruises to watch for in 2016

630x355 (11)

First, thank you for the likes. It’s good to know that people enjoy what I’m writing.

With 2016 just around the corner, it is not too soon to start planning the trips you might want to take next year. And I would love to hear about those tra travel ideas you have. I’m always getting e-mail about travel specials. I would love to be able to match your interests with these deals.

Okay, today let’s talk about Caribbean cruises first, Royal Caribbean is going to be introducing their new ship, Oasis of the Seas, in November of this coming year. They are going to have different itineraries, alternating between the Eastern and Western Caribbean. And if you’d like, you could combine a cruise and a trip to Disney World. This might make a perfect summer vacation for everyone. However, I do have to say that I hear that summer is an awful time to go to Disney. There are just so many people there that time of year.

Those looking for a more intimate cruise might enjoy going on Sea Cloud. Starting in March of next year, they are going to explore some of the lesser known areas of the Caribbean. I would love to know your thoughts on this.

Unforgetable castles

If I’ve learned anything over the last three years as a travel agent, it’s that Disney is a very popular place, especially with younger families. And Disney is a magical place, no matter which Disney destination you are visiting. Disney always provides exceptional service and memories that are going to last a lifetime. But is there something more to this? Most children grow up loving the fairy tales. And Disney has brought the fairy tales to life in their films.. And what do a lot of fairy tales have as their setting? Castles, so today let’s look at some castles.

The first place we are going to look at today is the Tower of London. Yes, there is some gruesome history here, but this is a castle in its own right. They offer a great family tour which includes a packet of quizzes and puzzles. You will get to see some fabolous jewelry as well.

Leeds Castle is another great place to visit for families. This is actually located in Maidstone, Kent, and not in Leeds as one might guess. Here you will be able to watch dramas of kings and queens. Your family will also be able to do their own dramas. I am going to stop here. I would love to know your thoughts on this..
