Our friends are about to leave, and I think I am going to go on and do some things.

You may not know this, but my grandmother’s parents came to live in America from Italy. They were from Sicily I, but today let’s look at Lucca. This is a charming village that has a lot of Renissance stuff to it, so people Who enjoy history would enjoy this.

The duormo means the center of town and is where people will always give directions from. Lucca’s duormo is a beautiful cathedral is definitely worth seeing.

Lucca is a place that is easy to get around in. It has a lot of nice bike trails. And of course, like anywhere in Italy, you are going to be surrounded by wonderful food.

Places to go that are easy on the budget

We’ve been keeping my niece and nephew this week. Some friends are coming this afternoon for an overnight visit. I’m kind of just keeping up with the necessary things with work, and will work harder when there is not so much other stuff going on.. The book, sighs, I am working on it some, but not a lot. I need to put some more thought into this whole thing.

I would still love to know where you would like to go, whether that’s this year, next, or any time in the future. I’m always getting wind of travel deals, and have a lot of resources I can use to help you plan your trips.

Mexico is one of the places that is very budget friendly. Mexico has a lot of history and culture. It also has a lot of great coffee and cuisine. And then there are the beautiful beaches in this country. If you want to do things the cheapcheapest that you can, you are going to want to stay in a dorm, which can be had for as little as eight dollars. But you can get a hotel room from anywhere between fifty and six hundred dollars a night. Food can also ,,be pretty inexpensive.

I don’t know what I’m doing tomorrow.. We will see.

“Come back refreshed”,  I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials if you have cable. I don’t have cable at home, and I’ve seen these commercials. But what exactly does that mean? Let’s take a closer look at what Princess has to offer.

It starts with a huge main area which they call The Piazza. This is one of the focal points of the ships. You are going to find a lot of dining options and places to shop. Among other things, you will find great bakeries whose wares you can enjoy at no additional cost.

Princess also has some of the best pizza. And you will be able to get this either in The Atrium or as you relax by the pool.

Traveling to Mardis Gras

I have never been to a Mardis Gras celebration. And I don’t really know what those celebrations are like. But here are some suggestions in case you want to go.

The first thing you will want to do is to plan ahead. You will want to make sure that you have your hotel reservations. If you are wanting to try to go this year, Mardis Gras is going to be on February ninth, you will have to start working on your hotel right away. You will also want to figure out what you want to do about transportation. Most of the celebration will take place in the French Quarter, and only those with special passes will be able to get past the police barricades. These are just some things that you will want to keep in mind.

You will also want to think about what you want to wear. People usually wear costumes to this evening. And different colors have meanings. Gold means power. Green means faith. And purple means justice.. You will want to take a bag for you will be getting. But it is seriously frowned on to pick up beads once they hit the ground.. I would love to know your thoughts on this.

Reasons to visit Sweden

Today let’s talk some about Sweden.. And the first reason is that they have a lot of coffee shops there. Personally I’m not into this coffee craze that is sweeping America, though I’d almost never turn down a good dessert. But I know a lot of people who love their coffee. In Sweden, coffee time is more than getting a nice drink on the go, it is a time to sit down with friends or family and actually catch up on life. You will also want to try some of their great pastries.

Sweden is known to have some great architecture, having a mix of older buildings and new structures. If you are into architecture, you will want to be sure to visit the royal palace, some of the old church buildings and the old town.

This place is also rich in history.Sweden is one of the places where the Vikings used to live. Stockholm itself has a lot of museums, many of which are free or have free days.. Let me know if any of this sounds interesting to you. I would be more than happy to help you plan a trip.

Hilton is reaching out to younger travelers

Happy Monday everyone. I’m kind of getting a later start, but hopefully will still be able to get through everything..

I feel like we’ve talked about cruises a lot lately, so today we are going to talk after about hotels. Hilton is starting a new chain that will cater to the millennials. They are going to try to build a lot of these hotels rather quickly. And they want to set the price for these rooms somewhere between fifty and a hundred dollars a night.

There are going to be several large spaces where travelers can gather. And one of those places is going to have a gaming center and a theater. Their front desks will be known as the command centers. I’d be interested to see if these places will be any different than normal front desks. And of course, each of these hotels is going to have free wifi and free breakfast. They will also have a lot of vending machines, including some that will serve alcoholic beverages.

I would love to hear any ideas you might have for new hotels.

About the book

I’m talking to someone about doing a booking. Hopefully this become a lot more common, but right now I’m kind of distracted.

Yesterday I started writing this book that I’ve told you about. It is going to take me a while to get everything the way I want it, but I wanted to share the basic premise of the book.

By now, most everyone knows that I love the family.. I’m a big proponent of traditional marriage, of couples marrying and staying together for life and raising families together.. But today’s family is often so busy. A lot of families have both of the parents working. Kids are in school, and often have sports and other activities they’re involved in. I guess my big question is, are we just too busy to connect deeply with our families?

And so as I am going through business strategy, when I’m thinking about what exactly I want to do, my hope is to help families reconnect through travel. Vacations gets us away from our daily routines and help us reconnect with those we love the most. I would love to know your thoughts on any of this.

Valentine’s Day thoughts

It’s Friday, and I’m kind of ready to get through the things I need to with work and either… I have made the decision to write a book to promote this business. I’m in the early planning and research stages of this.. I’m working on these ideas once I have done this, worked through my e-mail, and done some on my training course.. I’m trying to get faster on these things so I will have more time to work on this book. But of course right now I’m also tired.. Work/life balance, which is kind of what the book will be about, is always a struggle.

Valentine’s Day… Okay, would you rather just get a box of chocolates and maybe a romantic dinner. Or do you want to get away with your spouse for the weekend? Hotels are betting that a lot of couples are going to want to do a getaway for the weekend. And yes, they are going to be raising the rates..

If you want to try to get around this, you can take your trip not exactly on Valentine’s Day. You can get away either the weekend before or the weekend after, and it can be just as romantic. Or you might consider trading houses with another couple. Maybe you can trade off watching your kids, meaning one couple will watch all the kids each weekend.. Write and let me know you’your thoughts.

More things to leave behind

I’m getting a later start, but I think I have most of the day to work. And for that I am grateful. I have several big I am working on, and really didn’t get to everything I would have liked to. Let’s see if I can do better today.

Yesterday we started talking about things that you should not bring on your next cruise. Let’s get back to that discussion today.

• Cruises used to be very formal affairs. And then they moved to having one formal evening. And now most cruises have decided to do away with formal evenings altogether. Please try not to bring more clothes than you are going to need on your voyage.
• You are going to want to leave extra storage things behind. Some of the rooms you are going to be in are going to be pretty small, so you are going to want to keep that in mind. Most people are going to want to use their rooms to sleep, get ready, and that’s about it. If you are planning on going on a cruise as a honeymoon, you’ll probably want to be in one of the suites… You are going to have plenty to do, so keep what you bring to a minimum.
• And now for one thing you will definitely want to bring, and that’s a good attitude. You are going to be on vacation, eating a lot of great food, having all kinds of fun. Please keep your best attitude. No one likes being around a grump. And you’ll want to keep that in mind as you think about the people you will want to bring on your trip. Don’t bring people you know are going to be negative.

What not to take on a cruise

I am convinced that sometimes the computer just knows when I have more to do than time, and it chooses those times to do funny things. I have some other things to do later on… So I need to get through some things now.

We’ve been talking about cruises a lot lately. But do you know that there are some things you should not take on a cruise? Below are some of those.

• Cruises are now asking that you do not bring candles. They used to allow you to bring them for your rooms. Take them and you will likely get your candles taken away.
• They are also changing their minds on whether you can bring your own alcohol. Okay, part of it is that they want to sell you their adult beverages. But more importantly, if they sell you your beverages, they can say when you’ve had enough. When you’re on a ship, you’re surrounded by water, and getting drunk could be downright dangerous.
• And do not bring your own toilet paper. Ships have perfectly fine stuff you can use. They also have their own sanitation system, and you do not want to be the cause of a backup, do you?
