I know I’ve covered these things recently. Please bear with me as I put up some of these articles together.
Okay, let’s get real here. We live in the age of the internet, not just on our computers, but also on our phones. And the internet gives us access to all kinds of hotels and airlines and anything else we need to plan a trip. So why should we use a travel agent to plan our trips for ourselves? Shouldn’t we just plan everything ourselves? Wouldn’t it be cheaper to do it ourselves?
The first thing you should know is that travel agents earn commission any time we book a hotel, car rental, cruise, amusement park, and things like that. Some charge an additional service fee, but others do not.
Travel agents are also able to save you money. They are always looking at travel deals, travel news. A lot of travel agents are part of a host agency and have ways to pick their fellow agents’ brains about deals and other needs that might come up.
Also, if something should go wrong on your trip, booking through a travel agent is to your advantage. Your agent will help you work through whatever the issue is. And think about this, travel agents have buying power, which means they have the opportunity to send a lot of people to that hotel or not. So hotels and things like that are going to be quicker to help a travel agent than they might be to help an individual.
