Planning a multi generational trip #1

I think I am just going to play the next few days by ear as far as how much to work.

rMulti generational trips are in. It might be because Grandma is getting too old to host big gatherings. Or maybe it’s because on a cruise or at a resort someone else is going to be doing all the cooking and the cleaning. You will also have some childcare options if that something you are interested in..

But You are going to have to figure out who is going to be the major planners of this trip. Something like this is a time when you will definitely want a travel agent’s help. Travel agents know the best places for big gatherings, and can help you figure out all the details. But travel agents do not make the decisions for you, you have to do that for yourself. So it’s usually best to have a couple of people who will work with the travel agent.

You should probably have a big family meeting to go over some important things. First, is someone going to pay for everyone, or is each family going to go Dutch? And if you are going to go Dutch, is anyone working on a tight budget? You’re also going to figure out dates that are going to work for everyone. It will also help to know what’s important to everyone about this trip? What kind of activities do you want to be available on this trip? You might want to put several ideas together, and see which two or three are the most popular and give those ideas to your travel agent. And it would also be a good idea to decide on the family members who are going to work with the travel agent.

Planning a trip like can complicate, and so I think I am going to do a series on this topic.
