How to celebrate the Fourth when you are in another country

This might be somewhat silly to write about since today is July fifth, but there are holidays like Christmas and Easter that most everyone in the world celebrates, and then there others that are only celebrated b us Americans. So where do you go when you find yourself in another country on one of our holidays? Read below to find out.

  • Your best bet is going to be going to an American restaurant or bar wherever you are. They are going to likely have some kind of celebration, even if it’s a mixture of America American and local flair. You are likely to meet some interesting people at these events as well.
  • But in Australia and places like that, it doesn’t have to necessarily have to be an American restaurant per se, they are going to have a whole list of restaurants where you can celebrate July fourth.
  • Shanghai actually has a very family friendly celebration of July fourth. Here you are going to find face painting for the children. You are also going to find barbecue and all of the trimmings.

If it’s important to see fireworks, your best bet would be to go to a military base. Not many other places are going to have those. And please remember to check out the laws of the area if you want to have your own display. Other authorities will not be as forgiving as Americans are.. Once again, I would love to know your thoughts.
