Okay, let’s see if I can explain this right. There are different types of cruiselines. There is the “mass market” cruiselines like Carnival and Royal Caribbean. These are the cruises that take thousands of people. They offer low fares, but they tend to nickel and dime you. Here you are going to find lower quality food and services. And then there are premium cruises . You are going to be charged a little more up front, but more will be included in the fare. You will also find a higher class of food and service. The luxury class of cruises will mean an even higher cost, but pretty much everything is going to be nice and less is going to come at an additional cost.
Oceania hovers between premium and luxury, which means you are going to get a very nice cruise for a price that is more reasonable. You are going to find that a lot of your food, beverages, and services will be included in your fare. A lot of the specialty restaurants will be include. Room service will be included as well.
Oceania has smaller ships which will give everything a much more intimate feel. Some of the upper class cruises still expect you to dress pretty formally. But on Oceania you will want to wear what you would to the country club.
Let me know if you are interested in learning more at Oceania. I would be more than happy to help you figure out your questions.
