I have some things I need to do later today so let’s get started on this… I really try to keep this blog pretty upbeat because I like writing about fun stuff. But terrorism does not seem to be going away, here and abroad. Today let’s look at some things you can do to be prepared.
- To start with, please do your research. Know where you can go in case of an emergency. Have a plan that everyone knows and understands. This is especially true if you are in a place you have never been before.
- You might want to consider joining the government’s STEP Program. STEP sands for Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. If you join this, you will not only receive updates about your desired destination, you will receive help if a crisis should arise.
- This seems pretty obvious, but when you go somewhere, always know how to leave. Pay attention when your airplane attendants tell you what to do in case of emergency. Know at least a couple of ways you can get outside of your hotel.
- The point of a vacation is to relax and reconnect with the ones you love. But it’s probably wise to glance at the news at least once a day to make sure you aren’t walking straight into disaster without knowing it.
I would love to know some other safety tips you may have.
