Some fine hotels

Today we are going to look at some of the nicer hotels, maybe you can get some ideas for trips you might want to take in the new year.

• The first hotel we are going to look at is The Palace Hotel in San Francisco, which is a luxury hotel. One of their claims to fame is that they are the creators of the Green Goddess dressing. The rooms are designed with modern comfort in mind.
• The St. Anthony is a luxury hotel in San Antonio. This is a great place to have weddings an other events like that. One of this hotel’s specialties are their cocktails.
• The Kimpton Van Zandt is a place you might want to go if you want to get recognized for a specific talent. This is an especially great place place to go if you want to write music. People gather here to write music together.
• The Pan Pacific Seattle is an absolutely gorgeous hotel. One of the things that stands out about that place is that they put coolers with ice in your rooms. You don’t go get your own ice, or listen to the machines all night.

Reasons river cruising is growing more and more

I’m not sure what my weekend plans are. I know we have an old friend coming in for a few days.. I have some things I would like to do for work, but we’ll see how everything pans out.

River cruising is a hot topic in the travel industry these days. This segment is really growing. And today we are going to look at some reasons why.

• River cruises are great for those who are a little older, and maybe have a taste for the finer things in life. These people usually simply have more time, and money for travel.
• River cruise boats typically hold many fewer people than ocean cruises. And this means a higher level of service for everyone. Smaller groups also makes everything feel a lot more intimate.. This is a great place to meet new friends with similar interests.
• You are usually given a choice of a glass of beer with your lunch and dinner. That’s just one of the many little perks you can enjoy on these cruises.
• You are going to find a much higher quality of food on board these ships. Part of it is just that these people know their clientele. But with the smaller ships, they can’t bring all the food that they are going to need on these voyages, so they buy food locally. This also brings up the quality of the food.
• And you are going to be able to get an up close and personal with the destination on you are to see. These boats are able to get to places the huge ships can’t. They hey usually can give you more time to explore these places, some of these cruises even have overnight stays.

Celebrating New Year’s

I have to say that New Year’s has never been my favorite holiday. I’m definitely a morning person and not a night owl. And besides, New Year’s just feels like the end of the holiday season, which usually feels pretty sad.

But maybe you and your husband want to get away for the weekend. Your Mom has offered to keep the kids so that you and your husband can have a little time to reconnect before life gets back to its hectic pace. You might be a couple that wants to get out and party with everyone, you might want to just hole up in a hotel room, or you might be somewhere in the middle of these.

• The first place that comes to mind is NYC, and of course, the big party is in Times Square. If you want to see this place for yourself, but don’t necessarily want to be in the middle of all the actio, you might want to get a hotel room in the Square itself. The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton-Times Square might have some rooms still available. Their package includes a view of the ball drop, of course. You will also get a bottle ochampagne and a fruit and cheese basket, and daily breakfasts.
• If your idea of fun is dancing the night away, you might want to go to the Grand Hyatt in Denver, Colorado. You are going to have a full bar, and an excellent buffet. There will be four different areas for entertainment. But the main entertainment will be dancing to 70’s music.
• The Virgin Hotel is a great place if you are just looking for a place to get away for some quiet. This is a very new hotel so everything should be pretty nice.. It has a very nice place to have breakfast.

Keeping kids safe during holiday travel

I’m kind of just accepting that life is going to be a little crazy this week. We’re not quite out of celebrating mode, and I’m trying to balance the things I need to do for work with the fun.. I’m hoping to do better today.

I’m an aunt, and I love those six little people. And as their aunt, I do not want anything to happen to them. I’d imagine being a parent mean that you want to keep your children safe is one of the most important things in your life. But how exactly do you exactly do that while traveling? That is what we are going to look at today.

• You need to remember that vacations are going to get you out of your routine, just accept that fact. With this being the case, you will want to be careful to put any medications away so that little fingers will not be able to reach them. If you are going to visit friends or relatives, you should ask them to do the same. Of course, this does not just apply to medication, but any cleaners or anything that children do not need to play with.
• Especially in this day and age, you will want to have a serious talk with the people you are visiting about their weapons. How many times have we heard the story like… “The kids were playing in the back room, and they got interested in the guns. And before anyone knew t, a little one was shot.” It’s a tragedy no one wants to happen to them. And in this case, it is way better to be safe than sorry.
• Traveling by car may be the simplest thing to do when it comes to traveling with little ones, but what should you do about carseats if you are traveling overseas? A lot of airline and car rental places are going to have carseats available to you. Sometimes all you have to do is ask. Other times there may be a small fee.

Other things to do in NYC this New Year’s

Everyone knows about the huge celebration in Times Square.. That’s what a lot of people watch, isn’t it? But this city is too big for just one celebration. Today, let’s look at some other celebrations that are taking place around The Big Apple..

• Brooklyn will have its own fireworks display. This will not be as crowded as Times Square, but will still be pretty busy. Starting at eleven p.m. they will start serving hot chocolate and playing live music. The fireworks, of course, start at midnight.
• For those who would love to go back to the 1970’s, there is what is called a “videology bar and cinema”, I’m not exactly sure what that is. But you are going to be able to watch movies from that era, and you can also get your groove on.
• Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to get healthy? You might want to start by going on a bike ride. Starting at ten p.m. you can join many others on a bike ride that will start in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village and will end in Central Park.. There will be an after-party after your ride.
• Of course, there are also the more traditional New Year’s parties that take place around the city. Here I’m talking about parties where you have to dress up, and go to a nicer restaurant or club. Pick out your favorite spot and see what they’re doing this Saturday.. And of course, this doesn’t just apply to NYC, you can do this anywhere..

Tired after vacation?

Our Christmas gathering came to an end, and it’s time for me to get back to work.. Really feel like people are starting to show some more interesting in this business, and it’s kind of getting exciting.

I get my ideas for this blog. Today it comes from personal experience.. I love being with my family, love doing the different things.. And yes, I know I stay up later than normal, trying to make the most of my time with my family. And my body has never really gotten the memo that you can sleep even after the sun comes up in the morning.. Anyway, I’m just feeling kind of tired, although I am ready to get back to work.

I know that this is something that a lot of people find.. We may just be more comfortable in our own beds. We also usually try to make the most of our vacations, getting up early, staying up late, and trying to make the most of our time, and that is going to catch up with us. Let’s look at some tips that might help.

• Take a gradual approach to packing, instead of rushing through everything.
• Make yourself get some good rest before you even leave on a trip. Yes, I understand that feeling of needing to get everything done. But you will feel better if you are rested up.
• Make accommodations as familiar as possible. Take your favorite pillow and blanket. Consider using a sound machine if you are sensitive to noise.
• Get some good time sleeping each night. You may even want to consider taking a nap in the afternoons.

Planning the trip of your dreams

This will  be my last post for a while. I still haven’t quite figured out what I am going to be doing the week between Christmas and New Year’s. I’m not sure what my family is doing, and I’m just going to have to play that by ear.

Most everyone has at least one place they’d really like to go in their lifetime. Most people have travel basket lists. Here are some tips for planning your perfect vacation.

• First, please don’t spend more than you can afford. There’s nothing worse than going on a marvelous trip, and then coming home to month after month of bills. It is better to save up for the trip of your dreams.
• Decide on a time when you can get away from everything. You don’t want to spend significant parts of your trip worrying about problems at work or family problems. It is more relaxing when you can simply enjoy yourself.
• Solo travel is becoming more and more popular. And sometimes even married women with children need time to themselves. Yes, there are some things that you will need to be careful about, but maybe having some time where you can choose exactly what you you want to do precisely when you want to do it is worth the risk.
• Then again, sometimes it’s nice to have a travel companion, someone to share your experiences with. Just make sure you travel with someone you know well, and have similar interests with. You’ll also want to know something about their routines, like know whether they’re an early bird or a night owl, and see if your habits can mesh well.

It’s the time of year where everyone is wondering what to get those people who “don’t want anything”. If that’s your husband, I might have an idea for you… Honestly, this idea is expensive, but sometimes it’s nice to dream, isn’t it?

Planning your honeymoon

 

It is the most wonderful time of the year, and everyone is busy shopping, attending parties and plays, gathering with family and friends. But for some people this time will also be a time of romance. Christmas is one of the most popular times to get engaged. And since a lot of people are going to be off during the holidays, this is a great time to start working on planning your honeymoon.

Some people say that it’s best to start planning your honeymoon a year in advance.. One thing to keep in mind is that you do not have to go o your honeymoon right after your wedding. Some people have jobs they’ll need to get back to. Others have family coming in from all the country that they’d like to spend some time with, and feel like planning a big trip right after your wedding will make this special time just feel rushed.

Another reason you may want to wait your special trip is that the most popular resorts fill up fast. Destination weddings are getting to be something more people to do. And spring and summer are just when more people want to go on vacation in general. Booking far in advance is going to ensure that you get exactly what you want.

Setting a realistic budget and staying with that is another very good idea. Financial strain is one of the top reasons for divorce, and you don’t want to put a strain on your marriage on, or because of your special trip, do you?

What are your travel plans for 2017?

It’s the holiday season, and I’ve been thinking a lot about Christmases of long ago. This is a time to gather with family and friends, a time to relax. But I get a lot of e-mails about business, and how to do well at it, and a lot of these e-mails are talking about making plans for 2017. It’s always good to make a plan and stay with it. And that not only applies to our worklife, but to our personal life as well, and that includes travel plans.

There are new ways you can travel.. The river cruise is not brand new, but have you done one? Would you like to? Travel to Cuba is opening up. Are you interested in visiting a country your parents couldn’t visit?

Africa is another destination that is not new, but it is becoming more popular. People want to see, and sometimes hunt, these exotic animals.. And there are more luxurious accommodations people can stay in in Africa these days. Most are luxurious tents.

Maybe you aren’t as interested in the latest and greatest, but what’s new to you and your family. One vacation that I hear is quite popular with family is these Disney cruises. There is so much for families to do and see, both for families to do as a whole, while gives giving parents sometime to be by themselves and relax. Anything that Disney does is pretty popular with families. And Disney is known for having a high standard of service. Resorts are remodeling some of their older properties, as well as building new properties in new places.. Travel is growing and expanding here in our country and around the world.
