Cruising for springbreak?

If you want to take a trip while your kids are on spring break, now is the time to start planning it. Spring break is not as bad as summer because school districts stagger their spring breaks. In summer, unless your child goes to year-round school, everyone pretty much has the same break.. Today let’s talk about taking a cruise during spring break.

  • Booking a cruise early is always a good idea, especially when you know that the time frame is going to be popular. Book early so you can get what you want.
  • Know that you are likely going to have to pay a little more for cruises during this time. If you want the least expensive cruises, you would want to go in either February or in either September or October. Some of the most popular cruiselines with families are Carnival, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and of course there are also Disney Cruises that are in the family category.
  • There will likely be many other families on your cruise. Expect crowds and longer rides. Treat others like you would want to be treated. You might make some good friends on board these ships.
  • Especially if you have older children or teens, you might want to consider some other cruiselines, even if they do cost a little more. Some of your options here might be Celebrity Cruises and Holland America.
  • Not everyone on board is going to have children of their own. And while a lot of older people like children, and can become like psuedo grandparents, most also like to see well behaved children. Meals and other times when you are around other guests are great times to work on manners.

I would love to know your thoughts about any of this.

Wave season

If you are a business owner, would you put things on sale when people are most likely to buy, or raise the prices? The travel industry does some of both. A lot of people tend to go on and shop for cruises right after the holidays. And the cruise industry wants to help people move from the looking stage to the booking stage quickly as possible.. Today we are going to look at some different tips for taking advantage for this season. And just so you know, this season runs from January to sometime in March.

  • First, know what you want to do and when. It is never good to be an impulsive buyer. It is usually good to make sure you can get the time off of work first, and all those kind of details.
  • Wait until the Wave Season truly begins. You are going to get the best deals that way. They are going to offer all kinds of perks. It may be free drinks, or free wifi, or on board credit.. And these deals will only apply during this season.
  • But at the same time, you do not want to wait until Wave Season is over , or you will miss out the good deals. Don’t be too picky. A lot of the cruiselines are going to have pretty much the same things.
  • Figuring out perfect cruise can be a little daunting, so that’s why you need a good travel agent to help you figure out what would work best for you. We’ll know the way to help you figure out the best cruise for you and your group.

Please let me know what questions you have about all this. And please let me w if you are interested in booking a cruise through me.

Seven Seas Explorer

I’ve said it before, and will no doubt say it again, that people have different tastes when it comes to what kind of vacations they want to take. Some people want to go to a particular place because they have family and friends there. Other people want to experience a grand adventure. Still others simply want to sit in the lap of luxury, if only for a little while. If you are in the third category, you might want to take a close look at this post.

Today we are going to take a closer look at Regent Seven Seas’ Explorer. I know that everyone’s tastes are different when it comes to what luxury is to them. I am reading an article written by someone who has recently been on this ship, and we are going to talk about some of his impressions.

  1. The first thing he noticed was that this ship was not crowded. Even on your private balconies, where on a lot of ship you would hardly be able to turn around, this ship provides plenty of room. And you are going to find lots of space in the bathroom, which is again pretty unusual.
  2. They also have a beautiful two story theater. Most ships of this class usually have only one story.
  3. The ship has some excellent restaurants you can try. They will have something that will suit most everyone’s tastes. Not only that, but they will also have cooking classes where you can learn to make all the delicacies you’ve learned to love on board.

I’m always interested to know your thoughts about the different destinations or ideas that I am presenting. Please let me know.

How to make sure you travel more in 2017

Yes, I know today is a holiday, but we do not have anything going on today. And I am going on a pretty big trip in February, and I’m not sure how much I am going to work during that. So anyway, let’s get starting.

By now the charm of New Year’s resolutions are over, and you’re probably deciding which resolutions will really stick, and which ones were really pipe dreams. If travel is something you would really like to do some more of in 2017, here are some ideas that might help you make that happen.

  • Sometimes all you really need to do is to be inspired. There is so much travel information available on the web these days. Look up the places you want to go to read more about them. Don’t know where you want to go? Look up the different activities you would like to do on your trip, and the internet should be able to tell different places where you will be able find those things. You’re also want to decide on a purpose for your trip. Are you just going to relax? Are you looking for a way to reconnect with family or friends? Are you looking to learn more about a certain culture?
  • Once you have decided on a place and have figured out the best dates to go, go on and take that time off from work. That will motivate you to actually start planning your trip.
  • Going with someone else usually makes taking trips more interesting. Start talking to the people you might want to travel with. Talk about the different aspects of the trip.

What motivates you to take trips?

More cruise myths debunked

I am pretty happy with what I accomplished yesterday. And this coming week shouldn’t be as crazy as this past week was. Today… I’m not sure how much extra I am going to do today.. But let’s get back to cruise myths.

  • There is not much to do on a cruise ship. There is actually a lot you can do on board a ship. There are always several pools you can choose from. A lot of ships are going to have water parks on board. There will most always be a good fitness center and spa. And then, what are you looking for? Are you just looking for a place for partying? There are ship with lots of different shows you can take in, and there will also be different bars and clubs for your to party in. Are you looking for enjoyable educational experiences? Some cruises have a focus, for example there are foodie cruises where you can learn all about food and wine.. And this is why you need a good travel agent, she can help you find the perfect cruise for your interests.
  • Cruise ships do not allow you to get up close and personal with the destinations you are trying to see. Once again, this is simply not true. You are going to be able to do whatever you want at destinations. Some cruises are even going to allow you to spend a night or two in your destination.
  • Cruises are just too expensive. Okay, there may have been a time when this was true, but this is not the case anymore. The laws of supply and demand work even in the cruise industry. Cruises are now one of the better ways to get the most value for your travel dollars.
  • Cruises are only great if you’re either newly married or those who are nearly dead. Cruises are great ways to spend honeymoon. They’re also nice once you are retired. But cruises also have a lot of great programs for families and singles. They have been working on this side of things.

I would love to hear any thoughts you have on these posts. I would also be more than happy happy to answer any questions you might.

Debunking cruise myths

630x355 (3)

It’s Friday, and I have several things I want to do between today and tomorrow. We’ll see how much I can  actually accomplish this weekend. But first, to make sure that this gets done.

Have you ever heard  someone say something, and then think to yourself, “that’s not right, is it?” Today let’s look some myths regarding the cruise industry.

  • People wonder if cruise ships are safe. Accidents can happen anywhere, just ask your toddler, [ugh, sorry for the bad joke]. But statistically speaking, cruising is one of safest means of travel out there. You just need to use some basic common sense, and you should be perfectly fine.
  • You are surely going to get sick on a cruise ship. Ships do move with the water. However, on these huge ships they build these days, you shouldn’t be able to feel it much, and your body should be able to adjust to it pretty quickly.
  •  Well, with so many people crowded in a small ship, some epidemic is likely to break out. News people love to keep people worried. They love to capitalize on something that goes wrong, unfortunately that is what sells papers. But again, use common sense, and listen to your ship’s crew, they’ll let you know if you need to take extra precautions.
  • Quarters are going to be cramped. This gets less true as they build new ships and renovate older ones. Cruiselines are learning that people really like their space. Some cruiselines have even started working on bigger bathrooms.
  • Cruises are nothing but a lot of drinking and partying. This used to be truer than it is today. Cruises now have a lot to offer those who love to learn.

I think I am going to stop here and may get back to this tomorrow. I would love to know your thoughts about this.

Island sharing

I have a lot I want to get done. My church has had meetings each evening, ending last night. But, unfortunately, I’m also having some troubles with my battery, so things have been somewhat crazy. I’m truly thankful to have been able to do my basic stuff each day. But I have people asking about trips , and I do want to get into this writing stuff more..

But anyway, they say you learn something new each day.. Actually, I’m sure I’ve heard this somewhere before. But cruise companies come under the same corporation. Carnival is under Princess Cruises which is under Holland America. And Royal Caribbean is in the same corporation as Celebrity cruises and Azamara. And these different cruiselines that are under the same corporation share their private islands.

But what exactly is on this private island? First of all, there is no need to worry that you are going to miss out on your “free” lunch while you are on this island. They’ll have barbecue lunches which are free for the taking. There are other restaurants and bars that will be available to you as well. And of course, this is an island, so you are going to b surrounded by beautiful beaches. You will be able to take part in all kinds of water sports here.

Carnival’s guests will be able to enjoy this island starting in May. Please let me know if you would be interested in something like this.

Other adults-only resorts

Everyone knows that I’m a big advocate of the family. But I also believe that the foundation of any strong family is a good, solid marriage.. And like families, couples need time to get away and enjoy being just the two of them. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Maybe it’s time for a get away with your husband… If you’re interested in planning a trip, please let me know. I would love to help you plan something.

If you’ve been dreaming of getting away to Mexico, you might want to try The Royal Playa del Carmen. This is a great place for those that just want to relax. They say that they have Jacuzzis in each one of their suites. They also have some gorgeous pools. Here you are going to be about forty five minutes from the Cancun airport, and there is shopping and a great beach close by.  Continue reading

Which couples are right for a Couples’ Resort?

630x355 (9)

When you’re in business for yourself, you’re told to specialize. If you’re trying to reach every single person with your message, you are going to end up reaching no one. And to some extent, every business Has to do this. Today let’s look at some specifics the Couples’ Resort people have set up.. First, these are places for couples, not families of any kind or singles. And these properties are in Jamaica, so you should be at least be somewhat interested in the destination. But let’s take a look at some more specifics.

  • This is a place for couples who would rather not even think about money on their trip. All the employees are part of a profit sharing program. The article I’m reading says that you are asked not to tip here.
  • This is a great place for people who are on their honeymoon or are just looking for a way to reconnect with their spouse. You can do anything you want whenever you want. There are no schedules to keep. They have an excellent spa you can visit any time you want. You can go scuba diving or take dance lessons. An of course, there is a lot of great food whenever you want it. Or you can simply relax in the water.
  • This is also a great place for couples who just want to be alone. They may be tired of having little people underfoot at all hours of the day or night, or maybe not so little people.. There are lots of places for privacy at this resorts.

Again, I would love to hear your thoughts about this. I would also be happy happy to answer any questions you might have.

Cruise news

630x355 (3)

sometimes it feels like the more i want to accomplish is when things come up. I’ve had worse Mondays, I know that.. We’re having meetings at church in the evenings…. Anyway, I just need to get some things done.

Today we are going to look at some different cruise news… Anyone who has been reading this blog for very long knows that I love the family. I love working with families to help them reconnect through travel.. And I read something on the travel news this morning about a program for families that Carnival does. I also enjoy Country music. And Country music star Carrie Underwood is going to be one of the performers. Carrie has performed with Carnival before, and has thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She is looking forward to doing her shows on Carnival once more..

Going on cruises is becoming more and more popular. This is one of the fastest growing segments of the travel industry. In fact, in the last ten years, cruising has become more popular than land vacations. One of the reasons that it is becoming more popular is that cruises are a great value. People also like the all inclusiveness that you can find on cruises. Pay once and then you don’t have to worry about money anymore.. People also like the fact that you unpack once but can see so many different places.

I would love to know your thoughts about cruising, or any questions you might have.
