Cruises to consider

Yesterday we were looking at some cruise news. Today let’s look at some cruises you might want to go on this year.

  • First we are going at Norwegian Bliss. They are going to Alaska this season. And Alaska is a popular place to cruise from from everything that I’ve was been reading. If you are going to go to Alaska, you’re likely going to want to hit several spots. And what better way to do that than from the comfort of a cruise ship?
  • Norwegian is also planning to go to another popular cruise destination, and that is Cuba. But Norwegian is actually combining Cuba with the Caribbean. You will also be visiting a couple of private islands along the way.
  • If you want to take a Paul Gauguin cruise, which is a luxury cruiseline, you might want to go to Polynesia. On this cruise, you will be places like Tahiti. This will be the perfect cruise for if water sports.
  • Are you fascinated by wines, and how they are made? You might try one of Amawaterways fifty cruises in Europe. You are going to meet winery owners and all kinds of interesting things.

Tips for a Norwegian cruise to Cuba

Cuba is starting to see some mixed results. Airlines are starting to pull back, unsure of what the future might hold for the future of the United States’ relationship with Cuba. But most cruiselines are going full steam ahead. Today let’s look at some of what Norwegian has to offer.

  • A lot of the time, you will have to pay for your drinks, especially if you want adult beverages. But that is not the case on these cruises. The major exception to  this is top shelf liquors, and this is kind of strange to my, but it looks like you also have to pay for bottled water. That might just be from your inroom fridge
  • The ship that now sails to Cuba used to be part of the Hawaiian fleet. You are going to find a lot of the Hawaiian decor there.
  • There is a nice splash pool. And while it is listed as a children’s attraction, anyone and everyone plays in this pool. There is also a whirlpool nearby. This sounds like a great place for young families to enjoy together.

The shows are not as spectacular as the ones on their larger ships. But there are a couple of shows that you are sure to enjoy.

I would love to know your thoughts about this. I would also love to help you book a cruise.

The not-so-good about traveling to Cuba

I have several people asking about trips right now, and that’s exciting. I also have several marketing ideas I want to try… For those that are wondering, I’m getting out with friends on the weekends. And I am going out of town this weekend. And I’m I am going to be taking some time off when the holidays come around, so I am going to get some vacation time.. I’m trying not to be one of those “do what I say, not what I do” people.. So anyway, let’s do this so that I can get on to some other things.

Cuba is a huge topic in the travel industry right now. It’s like a new frontier we have yet to fully explore. And don’t get me wrong, it’s a great Place to visit. But there are some things you will want to be careful of. And this first one is especially true in the capital of Havana. You will want to be very careful wth your money. Yes, there are pickpockets in this city. But there are also people who will try to sell you things that will be worth a lot less than what you paid. So sadly, it is best to avoid the people in the streets in this city.

You will find entrance fees to places like historic sites and museums to be rather high. These places are run by the Cuban government. They actually charge foreigners times what they do locals. So you might want to try to space out your to welcome museums.

I would love to know your thoughts on all this.

Women’s adventure tours

I had a very quiet weekend, quieter than I would have liked. But actually a friend is coming over this evening, so I need to try to get some serious work done today so I’ll be ready to to enjoy myself tonight.

Okay, so last week we talked some about options for guys trips. Now let’s look at a trip that is just for us women. These trips will be taking place in Cuba. Under the new laws, you are required to get to know the people of Cuba for at least part of your trip. But you will be having some adventures along the way as well. We believe that this is the first tour in Cuba that is open to women only.

This tour is designed to let you get up close and personal with Cuba’s wildlife, as well as see some of the country’s beautiful scenery. The trip is designed for people who are thirty and above. On this trip you will be exploring wildlife reserves. You will be meeting with scientists and animal keepers and breeders and biologist. You will also be touring a farm. Please let me know if you are interested in doing something like this. I would be more than happy to help you figure everything out.

There is a lot going on in my own life right now. I’ve mentioned that. But even reading the travel news, I’m reminded again and again that there is so much going on in this country. There are racial tensions, questions about life and marriage. And then there is this about the United States opening up the way for its citizens to go to Cuba.. Things are just changing in so many ways right now.

There are still a limited number of reasons you can visit Cuba if you are an American citizen. Today is the first day that tours will be sold from the United States to Cuba. These tour operators have done all their research, and know what is allowed and what isn’t. They will guide you through all the legalities, so you will not need to worry about any of that.

One of the most popular reasons to visit Cuba is to get to know its people and culture. So this tour, which usually mostly does sun and fun tours, has a full schedule for you. And of course everything is geared toward helping you getting to know the people of Cuba better. These trips are rather short, only five to seven days.. And they will be starting to take groups in September. Let me know if you are interested in a trip to Cuba.

Plans have actually changed as far as my travels. Hopefully we are going to be taking my grandparents to their next stop Thursday and Friday, so I will not be able to do this Thursday and Friday of this week.

Let’s look more at traveling to Cuba and what that requires.. The first thing you need to know is that travel insurance is a requirement when you are going to Cuba. You will want to make sure that the insurance provider you choose does in fact cover Cuba, because some companies are not covering Cuba yet.

Another thing you will want to check into is banking. ATM cards that are issued in the United States will not work in Cuba. Cards that are issued outside the US will work fine. They will be charging you additional fees which can add up over time. You will want to be sure to bring enough cash for your trip.

For the most part, internet is not good at all in Cuba. You are going to pay around six dollars for an hour of internet. But you will also be waiting in a couple of lines which usually take a while to get through. Some nicer hotels have internet. But again you are going to have to pay and wait in the lines.

Let me know if you and your family might be interested in going to Cuba.

Traveling to Cuba

We will be heading out on our vacation one week from tomorrow. So I know I am going to work this week, and I haven’t decided whether I am going to work next Monday or not. I’ll figure that out later.

As a travel agent, one thing that is good for me to do is to keep up with the travel news. And one thing I always see is things about Cuba… President Obama hasloosened the regulations of whether we, as US citizens, can travel to Cuba… This happened a couple of months ago, and now cruises are looking into getting this new “frontier” or whatever you want to call it.

Right now, Cuba does not have the infrastructure to handle large cruise ships. It would be great for smaller ships. One of the big reasons Obama has opened up travel to Cuba is so that we can to get to know their people and they can get to know us. So the cruises are going to be cultural tours… There will be more information as time goes by and more details are hammered out. Please let me know if you are interested in anything like this.
